| July 6, 2011 | Associated Steel has recently added a pre-hardened, high performance die steel called Rhino-Die™ to its extensive product mix of tool and die steels. Rhino-Die™ offers many key features including excellent impact strength, thermal fatigue resistance—similar to hot work die steels, and is delivered in "pre-hardened" condition with an approximate Rockwell "C" 42 hardness. Field applications include zinc dies, extrusion dies, and aluminum die cast molds. |

| December 7, 2010 | American Stainless News Associated Steel has added LDX 2101® lean duplex shafting from Outokumpu to their product line of alloy and stainless steel shafting. This lean duplex grade offers better corrosion resistance and greater mechanical strength than the traditional austenitic stainless grades, including 304L and 316L. Elevated properties can be achieved without relying on costly alloying elements such as nickel. The shafting comes in two surface finishes and tolerances, long bar lengths, guaranteed bearing fit, and fine turned "oversize" under the trade name ASC2250™ LDX.
