As the Regional Account Manager my responsibility is to my customers and to assist them in resolving maintenance issues. My goal is to offer materials that have a benefit to you or add value to your operation.
Early on in my career with ASC, I was challenged with assisting the stamping department of a large manufacturing facility. They were using an inexpensive blank in their process. This blank failed after only three weeks resulting in the line going down. This means lost production and maintenance needs to come in to replace these blanks again. This is a costly process to go thru every three weeks. I was able to offer a tempered stainless steel as a possible solution. They had a positive result with run times going from three weeks to several plus months. The material had a higher initial cost, but the investment meant maintenance personnel were freed up and their down time was drastically reduced.
I believe in thinking outside the box, sometimes that means taking a chance. I started in the steel industry in 1975. I worked way up from general laborer to set-up person and on to machine operator. I was a Master Scheduler where I managed 13 pieces of production equipment and several delivery trucks. I became Quality Assurance Manager and finally into Sales. Sales is where I am most happy helping others and working with new customers and applications.
