ASC2250® LDX

(2101 Duplex) Corrosion Resistant, Lean Duplex Stainless Steel Shaft

ASC2250 LDX is a lean duplex stainless steel shafting that exhibits equal parts Austenite and Ferrite.  This  particular grade will outperform most austenitic grades in a host of critical service applications.  It is engineered to resist stress corrosion cracking (SCC), corrosion fatigue, and pitting.  Typical hardness is 290 BHN.  Typical tensile strength is 94,000 PSI minimum. ASC2250 LDX is the newest hybrid of stainless steels offering superior service and high performance for maintenance applications.  It combines high chromium, nitrogen, and molybdenum to enhance the corrosion resistance and toughness of the steel.

Key Features

Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) Resistance – the duplex grain structure of ASC2250 LDX, with its continuous Ferritic phase means this product is much less sensitive to stress corrosion cracking (Sulfide and Chloride). Austenitic stainless grades, such as 304L and 316L are more susceptible to fracture.

Corrosion Fatigue – resists fatigue failure in corrosive environments due to its unique combination of high strength and resistance to corrosion.

Fatigue Resistance – has been evaluated (pulsating tensile fatigue) at two million cycles with a probability of rupture listed at 50.

Caustic Solution Corrosion – testing in simulated “white liquor” shows less weight loss and superior  corrosion resistance when compared to other common stainless steels.

Precision Fit – this shaft comes standard as “true bearing-fit” TGP product ready for immediate use.

Pitting Resistance – (PRE 26)

High Strength – up to 3x times the strength of 316L stainless.

Ease of Machining and Welding – it is not gummy, and it will hold a bright finish.
