Chromium Carbide Overlay Clad Plate and Custom Shapes

Rhino-Klad is a chromium carbide clad wear plate. This 600BHN wear resistant plate provides excellent service in extreme abrasion and impact maintenance applications. The process provides a chromium carbide overlay metal that is fusion bonded to high quality plate. The bond cannot separate under abrasion or shock. Cladding plate produces natural stress relief cracks. These relief cracks are only limited to the overlay and do not extend to the base plate. These cracks provide a certain amount of extended wear life in abrasion and impact applications by relieving stresses in the plate.

As deposited, the overlay has a developed hardness of Rockwell “C” 60/62 and offers an unmatched abrasive resistance for various heavy industrial applications. The overlay deposit is usually one or two layers. Bead widths vary according to the method of the manufacturing. Call or email us for a quote.
